Our Story

Sometime around the early eighties, two young entrepreneurs, ex students from Mussoorie decided to set roots in this mystically quaint and endearing village called Kanatal. This was the beginning of the first commercial venture in hospitality to set foot on a very small and modest scale: A café within the premises of The Hermitage. Time passed and with the travellers profile so did the menu. Today we are pleased to announce not only the existence of a café 'Chilli & Chips' serving fresh and healthy snacks and beverages through out the day, but also The Village Diner. Open to public The Village Diner offers fresh and wholesome North Indian curries and breads, succulent Tandoori platters, a variety of Continental and Indian breakfast buffets, and mouth watering desserts.

We have also proudly revived the local flavours from locally grown produce and prepared by authentic chefs from the region. Highly recommended..Our local cuisine! But fooding is about the ambience and the experience, the company and the moment. So for those who wish to soak in the sunsets sinking behind the tall standing Rausli trees, it's dining time on The Ramp and The Terrace at The Hermitage.
